El Tatio (the grandfather) is a geyser field located within the Andes Mountains of northern Chile at 4,320 meters above sea level, and at a distance of about 100 kilometers to the ALMA observatory. Within the field about 80 active geysers can be found, making it the largest geyser field in the southern hemisphere.
